BCCI officials have an uncanny knack of courting controversies. After the clamp down on the players and the selectors now they have teased the Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan. The film star was seen in the stadiums couple of times this year. When he last trurned up at the Jaipur ODI between India and Pakistan the NeoSports commentrator Rameez Raja while talking to the star decided to dwel into movies; this irked the BCCI officials. BCCI’s Ratnakar Shetty said that stars using the platform of cricket for promoting films is “slightly debatable”. This with the reference of Shahrukh Khan and his new release “Om Shanthi Om”.
Reacting to the board official’s comments Shahrukh Khan retorted that he need not use other platforms to promote his movies. He added that he came to watch the matchs for the love of the game and for his children who are fans of Sachin, Dhoni and Saurav. But next time around he will send his children alone and ask them not to mention his name.
