BCCI may lure back ICL players

The Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) could lift the ban it has imposed on the players to lure them back from the Indian Cricket League (ICL) back to their own version of the Twenty20 league the Indian Premier League, according to some sources in the board.

The BCCI want to hit the ICL where it hurts the most. It want to drain out the foreign player from its opposition camp so that the league would look pale with just the player from the ranji teams. BCCI vice-president Rajiv Shukla told reporters “We could allow the foreign players to play in the Indian Premier League (IPL) if they terminate their contracts with ICL,”
However, he said that there was opposition within the board on revoking the bans on domestic players who quit their state teams to join the rebel ICL. “There is a suggestion for giving a general amnesty but there has been no consensus on it,” Shukla added.
